Mrs. Funmi Omo has worked at African Alliance Insurance for 16 years, working her way up from Head of the Individual Business Department to Managing Director. When the company was young, she led the retail marketing team to expand business volume by over 1000%. She was then promoted to chief operating officer and later to executive director. As executive director, she is credited with doubling the gross premium income of the company and pioneering the design of annuity products. She also transitioned the company’s semi-automatic application usage to fully automatic, saving countless hours and improving efficiency.

Mrs. Funmi Omo has a BSc. (Hons.) degree in Insurance from the University of Lagos and is an alumnus of the Lagos Business School and the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS).

Mrs. Omo has been recognized as one of the top 100 female CEOs in Africa by Reset Global People and was counted among the 50 Leading Ladies in Corporate Nigeria by Leading Ladies Africa in 2019. She is an associate member of the London Chartered Institute of Insurance, the Nigerian Institute of Management, and the Certified Pensions Institute in Nigeria.

ADDITIONAL FACTS

Mrs. Omo's motto is “I live to impact lives.” She serves on the board of Frenchies Food and PAL Pensions Alliance. She also privately funds scholarships for young people from disadvantaged homes.
